I restored a lot of courses recently,which also resulted kn restoring a lot of announcements in each courses.
I wanted to know if theres a possibility to remove the announcements from all courses?
I trird chnging tbe number of news items in course appearance to zero but still it didnt aork. We have 1500 Courses and its difficult to delete the announcement from each and every course.

I am not sure about the some method to globally delete or hide course announcement. May be you have to do some coding.
When you changed the News items to zero then you have to also delete the Announcement from the course manually.
Thanks Kavita. I should be deleting all those announcements only i guess :X wish it was some plugin so that uninstalling it will remove all the announcements.

Setting the number of news items to 0 should remove the 'Latest announcements' block but not the announcements forums or the old posts in there. As far as I know resetting each course (select only to remove all posts from the announcement forum) is the only way to achieve this.
Clever people have created scripts to do something along the lines of what you're trying to achieve but there is no global forum reset facility.
