Deleting courses doesn't free up disk space...

Hi all

Running Moodle 3.3, just deleted 4 courses and instead of it freeing up disk space, our server now has 2.5GB less space available?! No one is using the site at the moment. Tried forcing a cron from the cli and still not joy. Am I missing something?!

Are they in the Recycle bin "cache" awaiting deletion from there?

If a course has files that are also used elsewhere, deleting it may free up no space. On the up side if you upload a file that already exists on your Moodle install it will occupy no additional disk space.
