End backup course... - ERROR!!

Hi,

I've been trying to get the backup working on my system with absolutely no luck. It looks like its ok and then I get this error:

End backup course Altior Consulting and Training - Online CPD Hours - ERROR!!

The log is as follows. As I mentioned in another post I am only able to use the /etc directory for backing up because it will not accept any other path. I've tried to make this directory 777 but that made no difference.

Can anybody shed any light on this?

Thanks

Jared

Hi Jared,

if you always get the error in the "copying backup" step of your backups it could be caused because your destination directory isn't writable by the apache user. Are you sure that you've specified "/etc" in the destination field and that it is writable for apache?

Also, some days ago (2005/11/08) a minor change was added in the copy routine to be a bit less strict in the process (allowing to continue if the copy works but the chmod fails). I'm not really sure if it has anything to do with your problem, but you could test your scheduled backups with that new version too.

Ciao, Eloy smile

PS: Anyway, having /etc writable for everybody sounds a bit....risky? thoughtful

Thanks Eloy,

I didn't like /etc being on 777 either so I just used the default directory and for some reason its now working. I just don't know where its saving to!

Regards
