Hello All,

I am currently using Moodle 2.7 to import questions with images (Moodle XML format).

I am testing out 1 question with the following steps.

  • created the question using notepad
  • combined txt file and image in 1 zip file
  • uploaded it to Moodle XMl converter

i always get "we're sorry, but something went wrong".  this is my sample question.

multichoice

Identify the arrowed object from a urine sample below:

img: 21.png

a) Red blood cell

b) Budding yeast

c) Fat droplets

d) Debris

answer: b

i have followed the instructions here http://www.slideshare.net/tjuly/adding-images-to-moodle-quiz-and-import-via-xml to the letter, can someone help please.

Hello,

Most probably the "Moodle XML converter" tool is producing an incorrect file.

I don't know "Moodle XML converter" (I know of a free tool with nearly the same name that was able to convert questions from Examview or Blackboard to Moodle XML but it seems that the one you are using is different). Is this a free tool ? Can I try it ?

Maybe this tool has not been updated or is not suitable for your Moodle version ?

If you upload a short sample file with just one question, I will be able to tell you what is wrong with the file.

If you are able to install plugins on your Moodle server and are familiar with the GIFT format to create question in a text editor, maybe you could try the free plugin "Gift with media format" https://moodle.org/plugins/qformat_giftmedia that is able to import questions with as many images, sounds, videos as you want.

Hi  Jean-Michel

Thank you for your prompt reply smile

I downloaded the GIFT media format plugin, i have one quesition...is it possible to add the image source from my computer or should it be hosted somewhere.

e.g does this work:

Identify the arrowed object from a urine sample below: <p><img src\="C:/Users/Dell/Desktop/New folder/21.png"  /></p>?

{

~Red blood cell

=Budding yeast

~Fat droplets

~Debris

}
