Course Admin > Reports > Course Participation > Activity Module (choose the Assignment) > Look Back (choose how long ago) > Student > Show actions All Actions > [if using groups, select group] > Go
You get a list with a select box for each student. At the bottom of the list is "With selected users . . ." and choose "Send a message."
Re: Sending an email to students who didn't complete an assignment 2.8
Hi Ben, thanks for your reply. We did see that and while that would work great with smaller courses (or if it were a small # of students who didn't complete the assignment), with large courses it's too cumbersome to look for 15-30 of students to manually select (if a teacher wants to do this for several assignments).
Do you or anyone else know of a messaging plug in that works with the assignment module?
In the assignment module, you already can change the filter to show who didn't submit, and there are already checkboxes there too (for locking & unlocking the assignment). It would be great if there would be a way to use those check boxes to then message the students right from the assignment itself since it is already 'filterable' to show exactly who needs to be contacted.
Would something like this be of interest to anybody else?

Hi John,
Did you notice that the "All actions" is a filter? Clicking will bring all the "Nos" to the top or bottom of the list.

Ben -- you earned yourself a nice tall glass!
We saw the filter, but only saw Post and View. We assumed that only was related for forums.
Yes, once you change the filter to Post, you can sort by Yes and No. You are the best!
