Moving courses to older version of moodle

Hello everybody out there using moodle,

Is there a way to move all (many) courses from a newer version of moodle to an older one?

I had to change my shared hoster and the new one only supports MySQL 5.1. My current installation is moodle 2.8.1. The highest version I can install with my new host is 2.6.1. I tried backing up the entire MySQL 5.5 database and import it to MySQL 5.1. The MySQL 5.1 database then doesn't seem to work with moodle 2.6.1. Backing up all courses individually is very time consuming, because there are many small ones.

The automated backup only seems to backup the start site for me and is difficult for me to run manually since I don't have ssh access to shared hosting.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I believe that moodle backups are generally not backwardly compatible (or at least not tested to be so) so the answer to your question is probably no.
