Removing the navigation block from Moodle 2.5?

Removing the navigation block from Moodle 2.5?

I'd like to keep non-logged in users from seeing the complete list of course categories in Moodle 2.5.

Is it possible to do this?  I've seen a couple of threads where people say you can do this by unchecking:

Show course categories navshowcategories

(in Administration Block -> Appearance -> Navigation), I've unchecked it but when I visit the site as a non-logged in user it still appears, and the non-logged in user can still see a navigation block with access to the courses.

Thank you,

Hi Andrew,

In order to hide the navigation block (and with it its content), follow this:

Turn editing on (frontpage) -> click on edit in the navigation block -> Click assign roles in Navigation block -> then click permissions under block : navigation (in administration, as seen in the attachment) -> delete Guest from the list: "roles with permission".

This solved it for me.
