Moodle 2.7 - I have created a new role based on the teacher_editing role and named it course administrator. However when I send a forum post the new role doesn't receive the post but the original teacher role does. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I had the same problem. Make sure the role (Site administration / ▶ Users / ▶ Permissions / ▶ Define roles) has mod/forum:allowforcesubscribe set on allow.
