Journal requiring attention

Journal requiring attention

Hi

I'm trialing the use of a journal as a "corrections log" for students to keep a log of any spelling / grammar errors etc, but I always have the "you have Journals that need attention" message showing - is there any way to switch this off? Or is there another feature that could be used better to achieve a similar sort of log? Currently using 2.7 but will be moving to 2.9 by September!

Thanks

Hi Shôn,

Sorry, I don't know about how to turn off, "you have Journals that need attention," but you could possibly try the User Support - Work Tracker or Dialogue activities. Since neither of them is a graded activity, you shouldn't get the "need attention" type of message from them.

I am currently experiencing the same issue on multiple instances of Moodle 2.8 as well as an older (2.4) instance we have not yet upgraded. None of the settings seem to change this notification on the My Moodle page, nor level of student/teacher interaction with the Journal activity. I have noticed that essentially every journal in every course for every teacher and student shows up in their My Moodle page as needing attention. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, and hopefully it is an easy fix.

This might be helpful for some... I changed our language pack to say, "You have Journals that await your insight" and tell users it’s simply a reminder that journaling is helpful to supporting their progress in the program.

I would also like to be able to get rid of this message, entirely. I can't actually even find a string in the language pack that's specific to the Journal activity.  I see a general one, as well as one for assignment and scorm.
