Educational gaming for Moodle. initial post by john Simpson had following video in it.

force feed back controllers, for "blind" and dealing with 3D worlds,  and just general gaming, to being able to feel materials inside a virtual environment.

to above... would a control something like one of above. would allow any greater interaction with students and actual learning / teaching?  were students would not be able to experience otherwise? and if so what would the be used for ?  not be able to experience?

Ryan,

very gently and quietly...I think Anderson is talking about shoot-em up games and feeling the shots! And feeling what it is like to blast the smithereens out of a virtual character.....awesome but not for education Ryan...we need to agree on that OK tongueout

But the idea of a joystick-timely, nice and adds to choice as opposed to the arrow keys/mouse...I am thinking the Xbox controller is obviously a winner in terms of minecraft popularity for sure-very accessible for kids.

I do think a control something like the one above, would allow greater interaction for the learner to get into the game/virtual engagement certainly in terms of engaging different ways of experiencing a learning situation....would something like this enhance learning?....am not sure.  I would need to see it in action or read a spec first....I like the topography affordances for sure.....so it is a question of curric mapping again to really know the potential of this/joystick-type hardware/addition-going to post on the other thread next....and so links might be apparent there too....
