is it possible to insert a forum on the frontpage where only the teachers or coursecreaters are allowed to post messages (but no replies).
i guess the mode no discussion and no replies is a forum for genaral announcemnet, but only the admin is able to post a message?!?

Yes...not sure if there is a better way, but here is the way I do it...
1. Enter an existing course as the admin
2. In the Admin area of that course, click on Teachers
3. You will see the screen to allow you to add teachers to that course...look at the web address in your browser address bar and change the number at the end of that address to 1 (this is the course number for your frontpage)
4. Add teachers to this course and then they will be able to post in discussions...in fact, they will be "teachers" of the frontpage activities.

sorry for answering that late, was in vacation
i checked it out and it works, thanks,
but maybe since last update there is a better way, just log in as admin, click on partocipants (the people block) there you can admin something like teacher for the frontpage

Yep...that seems to work. I don't show the people block on my frontpage, so I never thought to look at it. Thanks for the tip.
