I have a whole lot of workshops to put into a calendar, and I'd like to insert the same workshop description in some of them.

I saw this filter:

https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=filter_wikiversity Where web pages from wikiversity could be included.

Is there another kind of filter that may do what I want?

Maybe insert a specific database pare, a specific Moodle page . . .  Or another idea??

Just hoping . . .

Now my question is more general:

Are there any filters out there that enable content to be embedded in various placed in  Moodle site, like for example Help information?

Scenarios:

  • Set up a database, add entries to it and include the entries in other pages via a filter.
  • Add pages on the home page of your site and embed the content.
  • ??

Does anyone have  an approach that does this?

Hi Derek,

If I understand correctly what you are wanting to do, I think the Generico filter by Justin Hunt can possibly do what you want. He has about an 8 minute video showing some possibilities on the Gnerico download page at https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=filter_generico

Also if you do a forum search for generico you can read about some other examples and uses.

AL, thanks, I have looked at this.

However I think it is  little different: it is inserting shorter pieces of text, not linking TO them or INCLUDING them.
