With Moodle 2.7 due for release next month, we're once again running a Quality Assurance (QA) testing cycle, starting today: Moodle 2.7 QA. The list of over 400 tests has been expanded to include tests covering new features in Moodle 2.7.

If you'd like to have a play with Moodle 2.7 on our QA testing site and at the same time help with QA testing, please read the QA testing guide and contact me if you'd like to be added to the testers group in the Moodle tracker. New testers are always welcome. smile

We're aiming for a 100% pass rate of QA tests within the next few weeks, so all help is much appreciated!

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help with QA testing. Csaba, I've added you to the testers group in the tracker, also all of you who contacted me via messaging.

According to the QA testing dashboard we're up to 126 tests (27%) passed after just two days! Many thanks everyone for the great start to the 2.7 cycle. smile

It would help if you could mention the MDLQA-XXXX number you are talking about.

Anyway, the question navigation is not supposed to be fixed.

I am getting Error: 524 Ray ID: 11aae4cce4180aea

Mind you I am wondering if Cloud Flare is blocking irregular IP addresses. Being BT my IP address changes daily and is a real pain!

I'm not sure but I don't think it is Cloud Flare as it was working earlier today. Cloud Flare reports it is connecting but not getting anything back and timing out. I get this when using my desktop and when trying it on my smart phone.

Apologies for the QA testing site being down. It was working fine for me earlier, but now I'm getting a 524 error too. We'll try and get it fixed ASAP.

It's working fine here in Perth. If you are still getting 524 error then it is probably cloud flare.

Re: Help needed with Moodle 2.7 Quality Assurance testing

The 524 usually indicate that something is taking too long at the server. qa.moodle.net is up for me ATM so i'll check what could have taken that long (i'm suspecting the hourly reset but strangely school.demo looks buggered up too, i'll let sys admin know asap)

Hi,

I think that MDLQA-6988 and MDLQA-6989 should have in prerequisites that you must be connected as a teacher (in a course).

Dinh - can you confirm this question bank issue is connected with 2.7 QA testing? If so could you give the tracker issue number? If not, then I will move your query to a different forum where it will get more specialised attention. Thankyou.

Could you give the issue number of the item you are testing? If you are asking about sharing questions with teachers then perhaps the Question sharer role might help?

A big thank you to everyone helping with QA testing. After a week and a half we're up to 390 tests (85%) passed (source: QA testing dashboard) - great work! smile

We have over 50 tests still to run though, so new testers are always welcome. Manieer, please sign up for a tracker account and send me a message then I will add you to the testers group in the tracker.

Thanks Manieer, I've added you to the testers group in the Moodle Tracker, so you can pass or fail QA tests in the Moodle 2.7 QA cycle MDLQA-6693. Hopefully the process is fully explained in the QA testing guide but if there's anything you're not sure about, please let us know by posting in this forum.

Don't worry, your post has not been deleted - it's here: Problems with standard theme in 2.7. I just split it from this thread to make it more easily noticeable. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Dinh,

Could you please refer to the MDLQA issue you're testing against? It'll be much easier to help you if we had this information.

It'll be also better to comment directly in the appropriate issue, as proposed by the QA testing guide.

Thanks Richard and Jina for offering to help. We're almost up to a 100% pass rate in the Moodle 2.7 QA testing cycle, so no more tests left to run for now. However you're welcome to try out some of the new features in Moodle 2.7 on the Moodle QA testing site and post in this forum about any issues you come across, or any questions you have. If you come across any bugs (obvious problems), please report them in the Moodle tracker.
