Hi,

Is there any particular reason why in Moodle 2 the course metalink is a single select menu that isn't even ordered in any meaningful way?

We need to add lots of child courses to meta courses and we have to go through them all individually instead of being able to do them all at once like we could in Moodle 1.9

Multiple selection would be appreciated because I often have many links to do in one shot as I used to do in 1.9.

https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-27628 has everything you need. In one of my later comments on this issue I link to a git repo that contains two fixes:

  • reverting back to the 1.9 way of meta course enrollments
  • auto-enroll child course members in the meta course groups that are auto-created by a hack found in the LAE version of Moodle

If all you want is the old method of meta course enrollment, replace your enrol/meta/addinstance.php with the instance in the fork after backing up original and you will have the 1.9 meta course enrollment back in full only written in 2.x code
