I need to know exactly how to take any Worddoc quiz or test with questions, and convert into a MOODLE recognizable format so that the questions are in my question bank.
My method is a follows:
I get my Word test into Examview form, usually not that hard with some good "search and replaces".
Then I import them into Examview (version 4.0.2).
Next, export them as Examview XML.
Finally, import them into Moodle, choosing Examview from the import menu.
Although this might seem like a lot of work, it takes me about 30 minutes per Word file (around 100 questions). This is faster than any other method that I have tried, and certainly much faster than typing them in by hand.
Examview 4.0.2, is old, but I think that I got it free, maybe 10 years ago or so.
This method worked in Moodle 1.9, but there is a problem with Moodle 2.2 and 2.3, which is being fixed as we speak (or post).
Try the GIFT import format. See docs at http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/GIFT_format. It should be easier than Moodle XML and fairly useful for simple questions.
