Hi Conrad-This sounds like a really nice idea. Here are some questions for you:

1-Will the timetable be the same for all students in a course, or will it be possible to set it differently for different students (e.g. in a course with rolling enrollments).

2-This may seem like a silly question, but what exactly do you mean by module in your statement, "Per course enter modules (a list of modules to be study on that course)"? This use of the word "module" I have noticed a lot in British English but it is not really one we use in the American educational system so frequently, and so I'm not 100% certain what exactly it means. Does it correspond to "week" or "topic" in the current Moodle structure?

Hi Hansen

In response to your questions

Q1: "Will the timetable be the same for all students in a course, or will it be possible to set it differently for different students (e.g. in a course with rolling enrollments"

A:

Originally the course template is the same for all students within a particulart course, but each student can modify their time table with enrichments to suit individual, but students cannnot amend the original template set, thefore any additions will ofto be planned around the set timetable.

Q2: "what exactly do you mean by module in your statement, "Per course enter modules (a list of modules to be study on that course)"? "

A:

In British educational system, a course can contain a list of modules, For example if you enrolled on a degree course example Bsc Hons Computer Science, within this course there a list of modules, for each modules the student must achieved at least a past in order to gain the full qualification.

Some people may state that a module could be a course within itself. For example a person may only want to study a module of that course, which in other words make it a course.

At present we deliver courses with modules, to over come trhis in moodle, each module becomes a course.

Hope this answer your questions.

Conrad

One question for the moodle community, I am creating add-ons to moodle(see original post), but just one question, does any one know of any open source software which is appropriate for creating class timetable preferrable using PHP and MySql.
