Repository File Path?

Hello Folks,

Just watched a great video here on youtube (I'm using v2.1.1+)

I am trying to follow along but, can't seem to create a "Repository Instance of the site" folder  by hitting the create repository instance button.

When I do click the buton I goto the next page to create a name and type the name "TESTER" in and hit the save button but nothing happens?

Nothing is created.

My file path is funny looking also? Check this out pic

What's with the long file name? I don't see that on my FTP site?

My file path is My root folder "moodle/repository"  Shouldn't it be much shorter?

I am hosting with GoDaddy.com if that means anything to anybody.

Please help School is about to start and I need to upload files faster than 1 by 1.

I think the long encoded filepath with the numbers is because I had SSH turned on my GoDaddy.com account.  By having that turned on it encodes the file path and redirects it to a different location only accessible via an SSH program.

I'm not 100% sure yet as I'm waiting for my SSH to be turned off right now but, I"m crossing my fingers that that was the ony problem.

I'll report back when I find out in a few hours.

Actually - looking more closely, I think your file path is correct. But have you made a folder inside the repository folder so that Moodle can choose it? You create the folder on the server and then give it a name and link to it on that screen you showed on Moodle.

Aaron...I am having the same issue. Did you find a solution to the problem? My host is GoDaddy. My path is similar to yours. The /html is left out of the path in moodle. I am assuming that is the problem; however, I cannot find out how to fix it.

Hi Lee,

First you need to check that there's a "repository" directory under your moodledata folder.

Then you need to create a new directory under "repository" (e.g. moodledata/repository/yournewdir); this is the directory you'll see and use at the moodle page.

Well I also have same problem.

I'm using latest Moodle 2.3.3+ on my site and I have repository folder in my root of moodle, and I made some folders there but they arent on any list of available folders. I don't know what to do next.

PS. I checked flags that creation of repository instances are allowed

Aaaahhh. I found my error.

For everyone else that will have problem with this, you must look outsite public_html folder, not where moodle is installed!

I searched and serached and finally today I saw moodledata outside public_html tongueout

After that everithing is simle. Just enter to repository and make new folders for instances
