Moodle packages for Windows

I have installed Moodle 1.9 package for windows on windows XP easily. It works fine,

But i am having issues with installing it on Windows 7.

After choosing http://localhost and data directory, install.php just brings a blank page.

I have also tried to modify config-dist.php with my info and rename it to config.php, this time i got database problem.

I have installed Moodle on Debian Server too without problems.

Just can't install the Windows package for Moodle 1.9 on Windows 7.

Will appreciate any direction.

I assume you are using IE, so maybe you could try doing the installation with IE in compatibility mode on, or using another navigator.

I think that the database problem was because the installation didn't get to create the DB tables.

I have tried with IE, Firefox and Goodle Chrome and the result was the same.

Will try with IE with compatibility on.

Is there an option that the Moodle 1.9 package for windows is not compatible with Windows 7 ?

What do you think can be the solution for the second variant?

With linux i just changed the values of the below variables and it worked fine. I did manually the database part.

$CFG->dbtype

$CFG->dbhost

$CFG->dbname

$CFG->dbuser

$CFG->dbpass

$CFG->prefix

$CFG->wwwroot

$CFG->dirroot

$CFG->dataroot

Hi Hayk,

What are you trying to install on Windows 1.9?

  1. A Standard Moodle Package?
  2. A Moodle package for Windows?

The second one won't work on Windows 7 or Vista. Suggestions for workarounds are given in the docs: Vista and Windows 7.

There's a tracker issue about this: MDL-26851 Please go and vote for it so that it gets fixed.

I am trying to install Moodle package for Windows on Windows 7.

So, it doesn't work with Windows 7.

I will try to use one of the alternate ways.
