Hi!

Did moodle have its own multiple-choice task type or is it only included in Hot Potates?

Yes - if you turn on the editing and go to Add an activity>quiz then multiple choice is one of the options in the Moodle Quiz module.

Thanks for your answer! I have a feeling that on the moodle template I´ve been given the multiple choice option has been somehow invalidated... . Anyway, is it possible to have the text and the related multiple-choice questions somehow side by side in Hot potatoes or what would possibly be the preferred layout... hmm.

Hi Päivi,

It is possible to have the text and the multiple-choice questions side by side. To do that you need to use the "reading text" field in JQuiz. Make sure "Multiple choice" is selected on the right: see the screenshot below. Here's an example with a grammar explanation in the reading text field on the left and the multiple choice questions on the right: at - to

When you have a problem like this, have you tried using Google? Try for example "Hot Potatoes tutorial reading text". As well as the "official" tutorials Mary's already provided a link to, many other people have created tutorials too.

Cheers,
Glenys
