Every assignment has a closing date.
Is it possible, that students recieve automatically an email, for example 1 day before closing date, as a reminder to sent in their assignment.
Has any one made this already?
Can it be made as an standard issue in the next moodle version, perhaps in the kalendar task?
Yup done .....
When assignment is created a cron job is setup to send a reminder email to each student that has not submitted an assignment yet, 1 month in advance, 1 week and then the day before.

I think i should put all my code together and give it to Martin to check out...maybe he can include it in 1.5 ... but as far as i know he is including similar features.
is it difficult so set it up?
I am not a programmer, i can reed the code not write it myself
Only need the possibility to sent an e mail warning, when they are too late, but when it is created and in between is also nice.

I think, it is a good idea to put all the code together and give it to Martin. So he can bring it in as soon as possible.
It is a big improvement of the assignment module, that will help as weel the students as the teacher to follow up the assignments.
A next step to improve the assignment module should be:
As teacher of all different courses, i want to have an overview from all grades of students, not only per assignment, but all assignments of all courses in one view.
