Course progress that spans multiple courses on front page for students.

I need to find out how to setup the following:

1.  When a student reaches the site and logs in they can look at a status of grades and progress that spans multiple courses.  This would be displayed on the "front page."

The problem is that I have corporate "students" that need to be involved in many courses.  Management wants me to create an easy way for those students to see what courses they still need to finish their "certification."

Can anyone suggest a way to achieve this?

Have a look at the MyMoodle option in the docs - that might be of help to you.

Thanks for the input Mary, I'll do that.

I was under the impression that a "global grade book" was not available in vanilla Moodle.  Am I incorrect there?

From what I could tell, the "My Moodle" section just shows courses "enrolled" and not any type of status/progress/grading.

Am I just missing it?

I'm honestly suprised that either a). this isn't a popular feature request, or b). it just hasn't made it to the final release.

Having a centralized location where a student can look at and plan for current and upcoming courses seems to me as a very important if not critical feature or function.

Can anyone else drop their insight into this thread, shut me down, or at least comment?

Can I get a dev or someone to post a reply here?

Well, even devs are allowed holidays. I was only away for 6 days!

This is on the Moodle 2.0 Moodle 2.0 Roadmap, under the names Course completion and Progress tracking. I don't know if it has been done yet.

Thanks Tim, sorry I was getting desperate.  I was getting a lot of pressure from my management team to give them an answer on this.

I appreciate your hard work and look forward to 2.0 smile.

Actually, something I saw in passing yesterday leads me to believe that it is basically done, and the code just needs to be reviewed before it gets committed to CVS.

That's awesome.  We're trying to create a "certificate program" and are trying to make the UI as seamless as possible.  Having the ability to tell them point blank:

You haven't finished this course but you've done this course is going to be huge for our company!
