On an imported course (from a 1.8 Moodle server on postgree SQL) students can't see their own grade. They don't have "grades" on their "administration" block and, if the gradebook address is directly inserted, a message "grades could not be view" appear.
I don't have this issue on newly created courses and.. yes.. I checked the permissions!
What could it be?

As a follow-up, I can manage students to see the grades only if I override the permission "View grades of other users" (moodle/grade:viewall) setting it to "allow" for students...
Of course in this way the students can see everyone grade, that is not what I want...

Right.. I got it! It's a (new?) setting on course level ("Show grades").
However a clearer error message would have saved me a couple of days
