We are running moodle chat on a Linux V-Server at a hosting account. We recently succeeded in converting moodle chat to use the daemon, installing a local copy of PHP5. We tested it out, and it worked fine with a few users. Once we get more than a handful on at one time, however, we end up with people frequently being knocked out of the chat. Server resources are not the problem. We see load averages around 2.5 and plenty of free RAM. Do people make heavy use of Moodle chat? How can it be made functional?
