Creating Courses

hello all...i am new to moodle so please forgive my unfamiliarity.  I have set up several courses, each with a different teacher and corresponding students.  The courses do not overlap and the participants cannot view the information of another's course.  How can i set it up that a teacher can add a new course to their existing course without it affecting everyone else?  i have set up the groups and groupings but the option to add a course or a sub-category is not present.  the only time this is present for teachers is when i log in as the administrator and assign teacher roles to teachers.  but when i do this the teachers can see all courses and not just their own.  any suggestions?

Firstly, you can't create a course "inside" another course. What you probably want to do is to give them "Course Creator" role. If you assign that at the Site Level (Site Administration > Users > Permissions > Assign System Roles, they will be able to create new courses anywhere in your site (but not get inside courses - even the ones they create if they do not assign a teacher). You can restrict this slightly by giving them the role within a category (on a category page, you will see Assign Roles at the top right).

There is also a facility for users to "request" courses (Site Administration > Courses > Course request) that might work for you.
