No SMTP Server

My network administrator does not allow SMTP on our network.

I am running Moodle on a win 2000 box with IIS 5. After a few hours the moodle freezes.

Is this a result of ignoring the mail problem and hoping it will go away.

Can I comment out the mail class and make it return true to solve the problem

Are you *sure*? How do you send emails on the network then? Exchange I guess, but still an odd decision.

What exactly happens when Moodle freezes? Have you checked the event logs etc for any strange errors?
