Basic documentation on Certainty-Based Marking (CBM) is at https://docs.moodle.org/27/en/Using_certainty-based_marking  .

This plugin displays result reports (for teachers) that properly summarise student performance in quiz attempts that use CBM behaviour. Optionally, scores on individual questions can be displayed. Percentages can be calculated on the basis of either just those questions for which a student has entered a response, or the whole quiz. For example, 100% correct on half of the questions - those which the student has chosen to work on - can be shown as 100% rather than 50% correct. This is appropriate when a student uses the quiz for self-testing, choosing just questions relevant to current learning or self-assessment needs.

The plugin was developed alongside improvements in CBM behaviour that are included in core code in Moodle 2.6+. Version 1.2 can be used with Moodle 2.3-2.6. Version 2.7.02 is required for Moodle 2.7-2.9.

The plugin is not what is required to ensure proper feedback of information to students Proper feedback was introduced in core Moodle in 2.6. Earlier versions require patches to the core code that are available (for Moodle 1.9+) at http://TMedwin.net/cbm .

With current versions of the plugin (23 Aug 2014) a different version is required for 2.3-2.5, no longer the same as for 2.6

    Hi Tony,

I installed this plugin in my Moodle 2.7.2 and I also changed the required 'Unlimited grades' setting. The issue is that I can't see the report after attempts. I can only see the header of the page and below all is blank. I turned on debugging and this is the error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function quiz_questions_in_quiz() in /var/www/web/mod/quiz/report/cbmgrades/report.php on line 160

Best regards and thanks for your valuable contribution to e-assessment.

Hi Toni - It looks to me as if you have the plugin for 2.6 running with Moodle 2.7. Can you check please? Tony G-M

    Hi Tony,

You were right. I was using an old version that I had installed through the 'Install' (instead of download) option from the Moodle plugin database. It looks like the version for automatic installs is different (older) than the one available for downloading to install manually.

I had to remove the old version and download and install the new one in my Moodle 2.7.2 and all is fine now. smile

Thank you for your support Tony.

I think (hope) that this wrong installation could only have happened for a short time after 2.7 was introduced. Tony GM

Turns out there is a serious problem here. 'Download' gives you the correct plugin version, but 'Install now' always gives the version for Moodle 2.5.

Problem solved with new releases (r3) for 2.6,2.7 with amended version.php files and version numbers.
