The module provides very simple yet useful functionality. When added into a course, it behaves as a graded activity. The grade for each student is took from a final grade in another course. This allows course designers to organize the learning content into separate units.

Subcourse is an activity module that represents the final grade obtained in another course. This allows to create "meta-gradebook" in one course, where all final grades from other courses are aggregated.

Grades are fetched automatically or can be fetched manually any time.

The grade type and other grade item settings are copied from the original grade total item and can not be changed.

Subcourse can be automatically marked as a completed when the referenced course is completed.

Like the plug-in, it was "almost" what I needed. The place it falls short is on activity completion, or maybe I missed a setting, you cannot set a passing grade before the activity is marked complete. The only setting is 'must have a grade', so if your sub-course has a number of graded activities and completion is set, the first graded activity in the sub-course marks the activity as complete. No very useful in providing your student a nice view of what they completed unless the sub-course only contains one activity.

Thanks David. That is good improvement suggestion. Can you please raise a feature request in the plugin's issues tracker at github. Thanks.

    Hi David,

I found it odd that the 'Useful links' section above did not show me a link to 'Contribute translations for the [laguage-pack]'.

But I did make a es_mx translation of 28 strings in AMOS smile

I would like to get a total grade from a specific category in another course. Is this possible?

@Ricardo, any help with testing the plugin in Moodle 3.2 and reporting results will be appreciated. I am going to check all my plugins compatibility asap, but there are others' plugins that need my attention too.

@Richard, no. The module is designed to fetch the other course's final grade only.

A new version v4.0.1 released for Moodle 3.1 and 3.2. The only change from v4.0.0 is in the syntax of Behat tests so both versions should work well for recent Moodle versions.

Please, tell me how to go to subcourse by one click on the link (without additional, in the screenshot №3)? Thanks

See the checkbox "Redirect to the referenced course" and its associated help text. Hope it helps.

Hi, I reported earlier about a bug that was related to this plugin but I just discovered I was wrong and the problem is elsewhere. I'm sorry and hope I didn't trouble you. Best regards, Rui

    Hi everybody!
I really love this plugin and would like to see it working inside the moodle mobile app! Is there a chance to see this functionality in the short future?
    Best regards,
    Stefan

Thanks Stefan. Please open a new ticket for the feature request in the plugin's bug tracker at github where we can discuss details of it. I will be wondering what particular feature will be useful to add (just jumping to the subcourse?) as most of this plugin's functionality is server-side.

    Hello,

We just installed this on our dev site to see if this could help with grouping grades for a few subcourses into one main course. I can see that according to the summary on this page that the grades are fetched automatically or manually" but I can't find the way to make it automatic? I must be missing something very simple. Where's this setting hiding? Am I just being impatient and need to wait a bit?

    Cheers.
    Rob

Sorry if the description was not clear and confused you. There is no setting for it. Every time a user is graded in a subcourse, their final grade is updated. Additionally, if you have a cron enabled (which may or may not be the case at your DEV site), there is a task (running hourly by default) to synchronize the grades.
