The Peerwork plugin was designed to replicate functionality of WebPA in Moodle allowing a peer weighting to be applied to assignments. Using this plugin teachers still grade the assignment, but available marks are distributed between students based on peer ratings.

A common complaint from students working on group assignments is that all students receive the same grade regardless of the amount of individual effort / contribution.

The Peerwork plugin was designed address this by allowing teachers to grade work, but for the available marks to be distributed based on peer assessments of students contribution to the assignment. Within this plugin teachers can:

  1. Set up as many criteria as are needed
  2. Apply Moodle scales to the criteria (usually Likert)
  3. Apply privacy settings / visibility of peer scores and comments
  4. Apply a weighting to the peer element
  5. Require students to complete peer work
  6. Report activity completion based on students completion of peer review
  7. Give students option of leaving feedback comments (can be anonymous)
  8. Grade assignments (teacher)
  9. Modify peer weighting by group
  10. Override final grades where necessary
  11. Control visibility of peer marks and comments to other students
  12. Release grades for all students at the same time
  13. Download csv exports for entire class or individual groups

This plugin was offers an alternative to WebPA natively within Moodle.

I had this error on Wednesday and fixed it but I did not update the version number. I have updated it now. Could you try the latest version as you may have downloaded a stale 2.10 upload.

Thank you for the reply. I installed the latest version but it still cannot create new activity. We are using Moodle 3.9.1. Could any one check it, please?

It seems to be working on the version of Moodle (3.10+, build 20201113) I checked just now. Perhaps you have missed a setting directing the plugin to reference particular students, Dr./Ms. Yang?

I installed Peerwork to a Moodle 3.9 system that has not installed this activity before. And I can create new activities. But for our live Moodle system, we previously had Peerwork 1.0.0 (the last version) and then we upgrade to the latest version. And we cannot create new Peerwork activities. So it looks like a problem related to the upgrade. Because there are already teachers and students using Peerwork before the plugin upgrade, we cannot un-install the plugin and re-install it. So could you help to solve this upgrade problem soon, please? We have teachers waiting to create new Peerwork activities urgently. We are now in Moodle 3.9.1. Thank you very much for your support!

@ Amanda I am working in Xi Jiao Liverpool University in China. We paid to develop the peerwork plugin early this year. And we installed the customised one to our Moodle system in July. Then we the Peerwork 1.0 and current version comes, we upgrade the plugin. But it cause a big problem now. We now upgrade to the latest version, but it recognises teachers, managers and site admin to a students. So currently, we cannot use this plugin. But our teachers and students are desperately waiting to use it. Could you have a check about it, please? I really need your help!

@Yezi is this a different problem the one you reported as issue #56 in the bug tracker? If so could you report it there with screen shots please?

@Amanda It is a series of problem. #56 in the bug tracker is the problem when I upgrade to version 1.0. Then, when version 2.2.0 was released, we upgrade to this version. And it appears to be the problem that I report today.
