General plugins (Local): Moodle welcome

Sends a welcome message to new users, sends a notification to a moderator of the new user creation

Usage:

This plugin sends one email message to users that are new in Moodle and one email to a moderator.

This will work to all standard moodle authentication systems:

  • manually created users
  • users that signed up
  • users authentication through LDAP
  • all other standard authentication systems

Configuration can be done using:

Site administration->Plugins->Local plugins->Moodle welcome

Configurable fields are:

enable / disable welcome messages to users
enable / disable welcome messages to moderators

message send to user
message send to moderator

message subject for user
message subject for moderator

send from firstname
send from lastname
send from email address

moderator email address

Installation:

Download and install in your /local folder in moodle's wwwroot

Run Moodle notifications,

Configure your email messages / moderators etc

    Just to confirm, this plugin works in Moodle 3.4. Like Margaret, I missed checking the box for Auth plugins. Bas, thanks for this plugin! :D

    I cant install this plugin i have this error

    Validating mod_welcome ... Error
    [Error] Plugin does not declare its component name [null]
    Installation aborted due to validation failure.

    Hi, does this plugin have access to custom user profile fields, so that it is possible to send a message like, "Hi user, your custom user profile field is customfield." Thanks.

    Can someone help me! This doesnt work for me.

    Enable user messages is ticked
    Auth plugins: manual and email ticked
    user subject and message not change
    i have inputed a sender email and moderator email, a welcome message sender firstname and moderator last name
    i have saved the settings.
    i then created some accounts for testing and they didnt work.
    Tell me what other information i should post ?
