To create tabs in textfields where the filter is activated, simply use the following syntax: {%:Tab title}Tab text{%}

    Hi Alexander,
    Great plugin which improves the display of content a lot.
    One question:

    I've made an anchor on a tabbed page but linking to the anchor refers to the tabs front page and not to the part of the page related to the specified tab.

    Is there a way to link directly to the page section under a specific Tab?

    as you have also created a github issue on, let's discuss the problem there.

    Hi Alex, is there anyway, to use this tabs plug-in with your static-pages?

    Dear Usman,

    it is not impossible, but I haven't tested it yet:

    a) The staticpages don't have a context in which you could activate a filter. You would have to enable the filter for the whole moodle system at the moment. This is a performance question which you would have to answer yourself.

    b) The staticpage plugin doesn't process filters when outputting the HTML content.
    Go to /local/staticpage/view.php, search for
    echo $html;
    and replace it with
    echo (format_string($html));

    This should get it going basically. But as I told you, it isn't perfect regarding to performance. To improve that, one would have to modify the staticpage plugin to support contexts.

    May be able to upgrade to 2.8 in January.
    Has anyone tested this wonderful filter with 2.8??

    as the filter is pretty simple, I don't expect that it will break with 2.8.

    However, as stated in the plugin's README file, our testing of 2.8 and our plugins will not start before christmas, due to our internal release cycle. If you can confirm that the plugin works for 2.8, I would be happy to hear your feedback so that I can add this information to the plugin repository.

    Hi Alex!

    I have tested your Plugin on a Moodle 2.8.1+ instance and can tell you that it works like a charm.

    There is only one issue I have discovered some minutes ago: After activating the tabs plugin the custom menu items in the navbar do not work properly. When clicking one item its submenus are not shown, clicking another item suddenly shows the submenus of the previous clicked item.

    Thanks for this great work!

    thanks for your feedback about the compatibility to Moodle 2.8.
    I will update the plugin repository version information as soon as we have run our own 2.8 tests in january based on our local release cycle.

    Thanks for your bug report about the custom menu, too.
    I have to admit that we don't check the custom menu as we don't use it here locally.

    Could you please:
    a) tell me if the problem appears only in your local Moodle theme or also in the Moodle core "more" theme.
    b) tell me if you are using filter_tabs with the bootstrap tabs setting set on or off
    c) create a bug report with these details on so that we can keep track of the problem?

    Hi Alex!

    a) The problem appears in the Moodle core "more" theme, which is my standard theme and I have no other themes installed yet.
    b) I'm using filter_tabs with bootstrap tabs setting on! Without using bootstrap tabs (using standard filter YUI tabs) there is no problem with the custom menu.
    c) I created a custom report with all information on Github.

    Thanks a lot for your work!

    Kind regards,

    Alex, can this be used with your static_pages plug-in as well? (means showing tabs on static pages) though didn't worked for me.

    Hi Alexander,

    when will the TABS version appear for moodle 2.9 or does the current version also work on Moodle 2.9?

    Kind regards

    Hi Michael,

    there will be a 2.9 version within the next 1-2 months, but we didn't start working on it due to our internal release cycle.

    I didn't receive any problem reports about running the 2.8 version on 2.9 up to now, so please give it a try and let me know if you encounter problems.

    Hi Alexander,

    I installed the filter "TABS" in the moodle version 2.9. It works great.

    Kind regards,
