Exabis ePortfolio allows students to create, collect and share outcomes of their learning process in form of a digital portfolio.
Exabis ePortfolio facilitates a learner driven way of attaining new competences, knowledge and skills, by creating and sharing artefacts as a learner.

This module can be used to work with digital competence grids within Moodle spanning over courses.

Key features are:

- ePortfolios can be built up individually or collaboratively
- materials, so-called artefacts, can be collected and published selectively using views
- learning products can be linked to competences (see exabis competence grids)
- export to Europass for CVs
- integration of OpenBadges
- export to SCORM-format
- base for using the DAKORA-app to individualize learning processes with competence grids.

This block can easily be added to a Moodle installation. It works course-independently.

Students can collect weblinks, files and notes and save them in self-defined categories. They can publish all or parts of their collected learning material, choosing to share their work with all or a selected group of users. Providing other students and teachers access to their ePortfolio makes it possible for their work to be assessed and reflected upon.

ePortfolios can be saved as a SCORM-package, and as such be used cross-platform for further work. The CV-functionality allows exporting to the Europass format.

Exabis ePortfolio is part of a suite of three main modules:

Exabis ePortfolio
portfolio work

Exabis Competencies - Competence grids
competency-based education connecting learning products  to competences and defining personalized learning paths using digital competence grids and. Base (together with exabis ePortfolio) for the DAKORA-App

Exabis student review
course spanning reporting tool of students’ achievements including assessment of soft skills.

The module can be used standalone or as part of this suite. Advantage of using all three modules together is that learner driven learning paths can be established – guided by trainers, self-paced, competency-based and personalised.

The free app DAKORA (working with digital competence grids) allows work with two of the modules (exaport, exacomp) with a simplified and innovative interface for tablets and smartphones which can be downloaded from all app stores. All data of the app is stored in MOODLE.

Hey andreas, I have already studied all documentations in that link. However, I couldn't find what is missing. I have all four plugins installed, activated and configured (portfolio, grid, library and review). Students can build a portfolio, share artifacts, access shared views and categories, etc.

The only two things I can't find now:
    - how to add an "Export to portfolio" button to discussion forums.
    - Import from Moodle-assignments. (This option exists, but shows only a blank list of assignments despite submitting some already)..

I see both "exacomp" and "exacaport" folders and associated files under the Moodle Blocks main folder. Is there a sub-folder I need to manually upload or a permission to edit?

Hello Ismail, you need to copy a folder from exaport (subfolder /portfolio_plugin) to the moodle-portfolio-folder which is /portfolio. Then you have to activate the portfolio as an admin for Moodle. Afterwards you will see the links. Cheers Andreas

    Hallo together,
if i share a view with the optione "external link" and i use this link, then i will be forwarded to the moodle login.
I would expect, that sharing this way does not need a login.
Is this behavoiur as it should or is that an error?

    Greetings
    Steffen Bachmann

Hello Steffen, this is not an error but rather a security issue. Within the Moodle-installation the guest access option must be set so a resource, such as an external link which resides within Moodle, can be accessed, best regards, Andreas

Hello Andreas, Just to let you know the portfolio import has finally worked. I did copy the folder you mentioned. The function didn't work right away and I don't think it is a cache issue. I then tried to install the old "portfolio" module again and activate it. https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=mod_giportfolio

I guess that triggered the import feature to work.. Just to confirm, is it required to install this module as well for Exabis to work in that case?? I will still need to repeat the process in a production server and need to confirm this point..
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Ismail,

I tried right now for Moodle 3.4 and 3.5
    - last version of Exaport from experimental branch
    - copied the directory /portfolio_plugin/exaport to MOODLE/portfolio/
    - activated it as admin user
    thats all, it worked

Regarding the export from forum discussions - this function has not been implemented yet, we have only done this for submitted assignements.

    Regards
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,
Thank you so much for confirming this. I will give it a try on our production server and let you know.
    Kind regards,
    Ismail

    Hello,
It worked well this time. Two important findings to share:
When you copy the folder, it should go under: Moodle/portfolio/portfolio_plugin/exaport

Second, make sure students have an "uploaded" assignment file for the import assignment to work. I kept getting blank list several times before realizing they students need to upload a file, not just submit an assignment, to get it to work.

Hi, We have the plugin installed in a 3.5 environment and have an issue with the Download as PDF option with presentations. With a large sum of text the PDF generated is always 2 pages and starts with a blank page and weird cutoffs. I could sent an example by mail. Is this a known issue? If so what is the setting or workaround?

Not having much luck setting this up for our staff....
The teachers can add the Block, but it's not visible on the page. I can see it as Admin, but when I LogInAs (which is enabled on the plugin settings) I can't see it either.

We've done the folder copying as suggested above but no change.

    Moodle 3.8.2+ (Build: 20200312) Version 2019111802.01
    Fordson Theme.

The suggestions above only relate to using the exabis eportfolio block within the moodle-wide portfolio-function - this would enable portfolios on many places. Using the block is quite straight-forward, just needs installing in the /blocks-folder. There is no role-system to it. if you can see the block as an admin and your teachers can't this will probably relate to a permisson-problem. Is it possible that teachers have some sort of restriction on that?

Hey everyone! I'm a developer working with Ismail, we got the plugin working -- it didn't look like it was working for a while as we discovered you must use an ATTACHMENT -- in our setup we just used a regular assignment type. So everything is indeed happily working for us.

I would say, your plugin could check for the proper directory installation and if is empty, write the files automatically. Better yet just create a new empty plugin, as it does do a Moodle upgrade installation but has no information -- very confusing for administrators.

Understandably as you guys are still developing, but thought I'd leave you some feedback. Cheers and thanks!
