When I add the Checkilist block, select a group to show 'all participant', it shows a long list of usernames who are not in this course. I don't know how the block got the names from. Anyone has similar issue? Thanks

William - the block shows all the users who have the capability 'mod/checklist:updateown' - in the context of the linked checklist activity.

YOu should check if you have given that capability to some of your users at the site level, rather than at the course level.

Thanks Davo, very quick and prompt answer, fixed now. Cheers.

I checked my other Moodle sites, looks like the Manager role has mod/checklist:updateown allowed as default, may I suggest to change it to 'not set' in next version?

William - the default for that permission, in my code, is for only students to have that capability. If the manager role also has that capability, then that must be due to a change made on your site.

I know the Checklist activity works in 2.7. Does the block work as well?

Should work fully in M2.7 (no problems spotted when I gave it a quick test)

When I restore a course from a backup without user data the students from the previous section still appear in the checklist block for the teachers. Once I go to the settings for the block and re-save then the students disappear. This has been an issue in all of the versions we've used.

Hi, I suspect this is due to the block still being linked to the original checklist, rather than getting matched up to the new courses's copy of the checklist. Should be a fairly simple fix, now it has been reported to me.

Jon - that should now be fixed.

Davo, do you know of any way to show some sort of cross courses view with this? I was at a meeting on Friday and was asked about this: maybe a page with a drop down to choose a course for person X out of a qualification.

Derek - it is not currently possible to do that with the checklist block. It would probably not be that difficult to develop such functionality. However, I would be unlikely to have time to write it, unless there was funding available, so I can do it as part of my day job.

I upgraded this block to $plugin->version = 2015010100; on my new Moodle 2.9+ installation. When in the grid course format the checklists in the block show through the shadow box that opens up when I click a topic. Here is the forum link to the post I made which shows a picture. https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=315235#p1263061

I'm not sure why the checklist bars are all different colours - that suggests that someone has made some customisations to the checklist output. I suggest you check with the person who made those changes. Either way, it looks like a z-order issue, you will need to adjust the z-order value in the CSS for either the checklist bars to the overlay that should appear on top of them.

Thanks for the helpful hint. I got it figured out. And yes my school district has been heavily using the checklist for years and I tweak the output every time we upgrade to be a different color depending on the percentage complete. Sorry to bother you with this question but thanks for the help.
