Usage:

This plugin sends one email message to users that are new in Moodle and one email to a moderator.

This will work to all standard moodle authentication systems:

  • manually created users
  • users that signed up
  • users authentication through LDAP
  • all other standard authentication systems

Configuration can be done using:

Site administration->Plugins->Local plugins->Moodle welcome

Configurable fields are:

enable / disable welcome messages to users
enable / disable welcome messages to moderators

message send to user
message send to moderator

message subject for user
message subject for moderator

send from firstname
send from lastname
send from email address

moderator email address

Installation:

Download and install in your /local folder in moodle's wwwroot

Run Moodle notifications,

Configure your email messages / moderators etc

    Hi, great plugin! Works ok on 3.11. Is there any way to send a welcome message on course enrolment for existing Moodle users? Most of ours already have accounts but enrol on new courses each year and we want to use it to send them details of new course. Thanks.

    Hi, first, thank you for that plugin ウインク

    I have the follwoing use case: I would like to contain in the mail to all organizer the information WHO has added the user and to WHICH COURSE the user in enrolled and in which GROUP within this course. Is there a possibility to implement this use case with the plugin? If not, is there a possibility to extend the plugin to suppurt this use case?

    Can i send user's password in message? If it possible, what variable uses for password?

    Hi !
    This plugin is not sending welcome email when i tried to create account through SAML2.
    SAML2 creates user account but Welcome email is not sending email to new user or moderator.
    But the meanwhile when i create user through manual auth it sending welcome email...
    Any suggestions to solve this issue?

    Does this wotk with Moodle 4.0? I have it installed on 4.0, and it sends the moderator, but it is not sending to the user?

    Hi, your plugin is good, however it should send email after the user is confirmed in moodle, currently it send the email when the registration is done, is it possible once the user status is confirmed, then only it should send email ?

    Hello.

    I have a question regarding the Moodle plugin "Moodle Welcome." Specifically, it displays random numbers for the date of birth on feedback email. Does anyone have a solution for how to fix this issue? Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

    the plugin is working also for Moodle 4.3.2+?

    Is there another possibility to display a welcome message directly on the website not through an email?

    Hi, does the welcome email get sent for bulk CSV uploads. I have installed the plug in but the email is not currently being delivered for my bulk uploads
