THEME_WAXED

Theme_Waxed is a child theme of Moodle's new core theme Boost.

It is built on Boostrap4 and Mustache templates.

In addition to Boost's preset settings, Wax adds:

1. Presets - presets added by ftp/ssh to the theme/scss/presets folder will
be automatically added to the presets drop down, in addition to those uploaded
via the user interface.
2. Colours - additional brad colour pickers to fine tune the seleected presets,
along with the standard pre/post raw scss custom settings.
3. Content - a footnote setting to add standard content into the footer space
4. Heading and images - add a page background image and a default heading background
image - the heading image can be overridden at a course level by adding an image
banner to the course summary files. A separate login page background image can also
be added.
5. Social networking icons - a panel of social icons can be created, including self-
defined icons.

@Roland and @Brian - both issues now fixed with a new version pushed to the database. Found both had been fixed but only on my localhost and had failed to push some of it to either gitlab or the database. Apologies - I'd done it as part of fixing my work theme and not come back to correcting the community version.

Because of other plugin compatability issues I am constrained to migrate to Moodle 3.4. On the git site there is only the Master branch for M 3.5. And the Current Versions page only has a version for Moodle 3.2. Disappointingly, the previous version for Moodle 3.3 & 3.4 (ie v v3.3.0.1 (2017040101)) is now not available. So I cannot try this one out currently. Is there any reason why this is the case ? Thanks.

Hello, could you have a look on this topic: "Implement extra settings for the Boost theme and the child theme Waxed" https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=381955. I'm working on M3.6.2

Is it possible to modify the login page and add some custom text and a clickable logo?

There is the Instructions setting on the Manage Authentication admin page, but beyond that this is not currently a feature of this theme, no.

Installation of the version for Moodle 3.7 in M3.8 gives an error. The folder 'classes/output/core' is empty. When removing this folder, zipping and uploading again, the installation succeeds in M3.8.

I keep getting this, when I try to install:

    Downloading theme_waxed ... OK
    Validating theme_waxed ... Error
[Error] Extracted file not found [{"file":"waxed\/classes\/output\/core\/"}]
Installation aborted due to validation failure

@Janko - Hopefully in the not too distant future, though having moved jobs I need to find the personal time to work on this and some new ideas

@Esteban - Waxed has not been updated for 3.10 (and although I have it working on a 3.9, it hasn't been properly tested there either, hence not displaying that support in the plugins Db). There are some theme changes in Moodle3.10 - they have removed the old boostrap compatibility layer, which broke a number of themes such as Fordson and you can find discussions relating to the fixes Chris implemented in the themes forum.

Our main site uses waxed theme. Please tell us if you plan to upgrade it to support moodle 3.10, otherwise, we have to explore other possibilities. We are willing to pay for an upgrade
