Maintained by Justin Hunt
The AI Image repository adds an AI image generation and editing tool that is accessible from the HTML editor and from file managers via the repository system.
Latest release:
12 downloads
Current versions available: 1

The AI Image repository  allows you to add and edit image files from the Moodle file manager. It is also accessible via the HTML Editor. It will use the image generation capable AI Provider (eg OpenAI, Gemini) that you select. Or it can use a Poodll API user and secret.

Video Demonstration (8 mins)

Adding an Image

  1. Open the repositories from the file manager or html editor
  2. Select the "AI Image" repository, enter a description of the image you want, and the image style
  3. Press "Make Image"

After a short time your image will be ready

Editing an Image

Open the AI Image repository in the same way as when creating a new image. If image editing is available, and there are files in the current file area to edit, they will be displayed in a list.

  1. Select the image that you wish to edit.
  2. Describe the changes that you want made
  3. Press the make image button

After a short time your image will be ready.

NB Sometimes after editing the image, your browser will continue to display the old image. This is browser caching, refresh your cache or confirm the change from a different browser.

Requirements for Image Editing

  • At the time of writing, to edit existing images your selected AI Provider must be Gemini or Poodll
  • There must be images in the files area to edit.
  • There must be fewer than the maximum number of files in the files area.
This is a known limitation of the plugin in the Moodle repository system. If the files area contains the maximum number of files allowed already, there will be no "+" icon on the repository, so repositories will not be available. In this case, if possible, increase the allowable number of files in the activity that hosts the file manager / editor.
