I have just released version 1.0.2 which fixes a bug that could produce corrupted ZIP archives.

Please note that sometimes extracting fails when using the built-in tool from Windows Explorer. An option to workaround that OS specific problem will follow. Until then, consider using another extraction tool if you experience problems.

I have just released version 1.1.0 which allows users to choose between First/Last or Last/First name convention. It also includes an option to shorten file and path names in order to work around a problem with the Windows' built-in unzipper tool.

Next version is planned for October, at the same time as the release of Moodle 4.5 LTS. It will come with an updated configuration form and allow exporting formatted answers as PDFs. Stay tuned.

In English Language quizzes, the teacher wouldn't like to the other non-editing teachers to see the students' attempts (to prevent revealing the questions), in case I install this plugin, will only essay questions be downloaded? how can instructor add the essay grade to the quiz?

Thanks for reaching out. In Moodle, a non-editing teacher has the permission to view the students' attempts, so they can view all questions that have been asked in any quiz. Thus, a non-editing teacher can use this plugin to download the responses, the actual question texts and any possible attachments for any given quiz. In its current version, the plugin will only ever include essay questions and randomly chosen essay questions; no other question types will be included in the archive. (Also, I do not quite understand the problem: a person enrolled as non-editing teacher should be trustworthy and there should be no fear that they could reveal questions.)

As for the other question: The plugin is used to export the data from a quiz for efficient manual correction. It does not have any functionality to import grades and there are currently no plans to add that. I am pretty sure that there already is a plugin for this, though.

I encountered the following errors while downloading in PDF format:
1) 'TCPDF ERROR: [Image] Unable to get the size of the image.'
2) sizeof(): Argument #1 ($value) must be of type Countable|array, null given.

For your information, some responses contain equations created using the equation editor. And I'm using Moodle Version 4.5
Could you please assist me in resolving these issues? I would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Hello!

It's very difficult to tell without access to the quiz and the student attempts. The most probable explanation is that there is a problem with an attachment for a certain attempt. (The error occurs at the place where the plugin tries to add the attachments to the ZIP file.)

You can try to download the answers without attachments, if that is useful. Also, you can try to unpack the ZIP file and see what attempts are missing. And finally, you can try to look through the attempts and hopefully find the response that is causing the problem.

Thanks so much for this plugin. Is it possible to download all questions and responses per attempt in one document? For example, if there are four essay questions on a quiz, get one pdf file per attempt that contains all four of the essay questions. As a suggestion, it would be great to be able to download feedback and scoring guide as well - basically just printing the essay portions of a quiz review.

Yes, it is possible to have all answers per attempt in one single PDF file. You can simply activate the option "All answers in one file per attempt" which is only available if you also activate "Use flat folder hierarchy in archive". As I have just noticed, there seems to be a bug if you also include the question texts. I will have a look at that and prepare a fix as soon as possible.

For your suggestion, do you mean the "Response template" and the "Information for graders"? Or are you referring to the feedback that the teacher enters in the "Comment" section during manual grading?

I was trying the "All answers in one file per attempt" but I had "Also include question text" checked and it wasn't working. I will look forward to that getting fixed.

For my suggestion, I mean both/either the "General Feedback" and the "Information for Graders" fields. I frequently want my students to look at my scoring criteria and the general feedback, then self-assess after they take a quiz. Having everything together in one file would be extremely helpful.

Philipp, I have had success asking AI to create a plugin for me in the past so, out of curiosity, I asked it to fix the problem and implement my suggestions. The resulting plugin seems to work well. I am not a programmer and I always worry that AI will make some mistake that compromises security or causes some other problem. However, if you would like me to send you the plugin, I would be glad to.
