Multi True false in one stem (question). Brief: The MC question type as it exists in Moodle is not very ideal, since you can only configure questions which are not very well designed regarding best practices of MC questions. Teachers can have more than one true/false question in same stem. this saves creating new questions for each stem. especially when it comes to an essay followed by many questions.

Teachers can have more than one (multi) true/false question in same stem. this saves creating new questions for each stem. especially when it comes to an essay followed by many questions.

Thank you for answering so quickly. It would be nice to be able to do this:

    Option 1: correct = 100% ; incorrect = -50%, -25%...
    Option 2: correct = 100% ; incorrect = -50%, -25%...
    (...)

    Best regards.

    Hello Adrian, answer came back:

An important reason to develop MTF was to circumvent the issue of “negative grading” in the standard MC-question type: We do *not* like penalties in the MTF question type therefore, since penalties give an advantage to the risk taking students / risk averse students have a disadvantage  we do not want to measure the risk taking qualities of students in exams.

If Adrian wants to award penalties, he can use the standard MC question type. And you can also point him to https://blogs.ethz.ch/letblog/2019/12/18/how-to-multiple-choice-with-moodle/

Hello, Are there any plans to add an ID Number to this question type (e.g. to be usable as an embedded question)?

You can download the github version (still work under progress) shall you necessarily need it to upgrade to moodle 4.0 please be weary that it might not be fully stable.

Can we expect to have a version that works on Moodle 4.0?

we are working on it, so there will be a fully supported version. In the meantime you can download the v4-version from our github (which works with 4.0 already - it just not yet fully support all features of 4.0 ).

It is a very useful plugin for my courses. The migration function is also very useful to convert multichoice to mtf.
It worked well in Moodle 3. But after upgrading my Moodle to 4.0, I installed the new version of the plugin. It came across an error and said "Unidentified column category".
When I explored in the database, the category column is no longer present in the question database table. How can I solve it?

Hi Min, could you please report the issue on out github?
Ps migration is supposed to happen only once.

How can I report on github?
With the previous version, migration procedure went well whenever I needed in courses. I don't understand 'Ps(happen only once)' in your reply.

    Report it here: https://github.com/ethz-let/moodle-qtype_mtf/issues

My note was that you only migrate the MC questions to MTF once; you dont migrate them again and again as this will create the questions again and again (duplicates)
