Installation

1. Upload module files to your Moodle mod folder
2. Go to Moodle admin area
3. Complete installation
4. Add settings on module settings page with your Etherpad installation

Etherpad Moodle Module Install Tutorial

1. Download and Extract the folder and files for the Etherpad Moodle Module. If the main folder is not named 'etherpad' rename it to etherpad.

2. Upload or copy the etherpad folder and all the files to your moodle root/mod folder. This is the same process as installing any other Moodle module.

3. Login to your Moodle site and you should be prompted to install the new Etherpad activity.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Upgrade. You should see a successful installation message.

5. Click Continue after seeing the successful installation message and you will be prompted to enter two settings for Etherpad. You will need your Etherpad Site URL and the Etherpad API key for your Etherpad Site.

6. Let's find our Etherpad API Key for a self-hosted install of Etherpad. To do this navigate to where you installed Etherpad on your server using FTP or any other means to do so. In the root folder please find etherpad root/APIKEY.txt

7. Open the APIKEY.txt file located in your Etherpad Root folder and copy the string of characters.

8. Paste the APIKEY into the field provided in the settings page for the etherpad module in Moodle. Enter the base URL to your Etherpad website in the field provided as well.

9. Click Save Changes and you are ready to use Etherpad in Moodle.

10. Go to your course and add the Etherpad Activity. Enjoy!
