Developed by UNSW, this is an advanced tool for building teams based off a set of criteria. You ask your students some questions, and then develop a predicate based off their answers for your teams. This is great if you want a little more control than "Assign Randomly" but less work than "Manual Allocation".

This is great if you want a little more control than "Assign Randomly" but less work than "Manual Allocation".

It's also a great drag-and-drop interface for building Groups; if you just want to make your groups yourself but hate the time-consuming Moodle method, then you can use Team Builder to make your life a bit easier.

Hi Adam. Thanks for sharing yet another very interesting plugin. I just noticed that when adding a new instance of the activity into the course, there is no description available in the activity choose panel. You may wish to provide a string 'modulename_help' to fix that.

The Return of the King -- Team Builder. I remember this much needed tool form Moodle2.0, then it disappeared for a while. I was desperately looking for this tool when a new term started, when teachers have to group new students with the 'same interest' but no knowing them yet. A simple questionnaire helps that and fellowships are build automatically and successfully.

We are really interested in this plugin.
Just checked and the last version is for moodle 2.8.
Is it going to be one for 3.1? or is this one compatible with it?
    TYSM!

A question (though this thread is pretty dead): if I use questions like "please choose your role" I can use the answers to assign the learner to a group (IE we have some admins and some supervisors who don't need the same training materials)?

Cameron: I don't see why not - you can have any question (or set of questions) and filter into groups based on their answer.

The Group selection module might also fill your needs if you're just wanting users to select the one group to be a part of by themselves.
