Simple Certificate
This is a activity module, Simple Certificate, based on certificate module maintained by Mark Nelson, but simpler, no needs to change any code to add a new certificate format, and moodle's administrator don't need to upload image files.
The certificate text are full customizable, using special text marks that will be replaced by variables (like student name, course name, grade, ...), don't need to change any language file.

It would help a lot if we had a filter on the emitted certificates page
I'm working on a stable version for Moodle 4.1. You can get it from https://github.com/davidherney/moodle-mod_simplecertificate/
I will attend to the new issues in my fork (https://github.com/davidherney/moodle-mod_simplecertificate/issues)
Saludos
I can see a setting within the certificate for 'Date format' but I cannot work out what I would add in here to force this to display in English. Is this possible?
See: https://github.com/bozoh/moodle-mod_simplecertificate/issues/261#issuecomment-1582688623 - It seems like Carlos doesn't work with Moodle anymore...
But, there's hope, thanks to David Herney. See:

I don't have too much time anymore to maintaing this plugin.
I try to get some support from community, but without success. Good Lucky David Herney

A general error occurred (sorry we can't be more helpful here!)
You could try copying the text that was shown and doing a web search with it.
In Moodle 4.x this error might be caused by trying to use a 'draft' question in a quiz. Check the question bank!

I am just trying to fix a spelling error on the Certificate details printed on the certificate.
