Description: The Serlo Editor makes it refreshingly easy and intuitive for teachers to create multimedia and interactive digital educational resources. Just drag and drop your content elements where you need them and edit everything in-line. And thus your students will learn better.

Basic Content Elements

• Text: Rich text can be edited in-line with bold, italics, headings, links, lists, and more.

• Image: Everything looks nicer with images.📌

• Image Gallery: Organize and present various images in one gallery.📌

• Video: Embed videos in your content directly from YouTube.📌

• Code: This feature offers special formatting and automatic syntax highlighting for code examples.

• Table: Build tables intuitively with row and column headers.

• Spoiler: Hide additional content – e.g. more detailed context, sub-topics or further information – easily accessible within your content.

Educational Content Elements

• Fill in the Blanks exercise: Fill in the Blanks exercises allow students to either write an individual answer, or drag & drop from a predefined list of answers. 

• Image Dropzone Exercise: Image Dropzone exercises allow students to drag & drop predefined answers into the correct dropzone.📌

• Interactive Video: Transform videos into interactive learning adventures by adding exercises at specific points in the video.📌

• Single-Choice Exercise: Single-choice exercises offer different answer options, of which only one is correct. For each answer authors can provide individual feedback to the learners e.g. to explain misconceptions behind common mistakes.

• Multiple-Choice Exercise: Multiple-choice exercises offer different answer options, of which several can be correct. For each answer authors can provide individual feedback to the learners e.g. to explain misconceptions behind common mistakes.

• Input Exercise: An input field appears below the task where a value or a character string can be entered and validated. Authors can add individual feedback to certain answers e.g. to explain misconceptions behind common mistakes.

• Text Exercise: Text exercises give learners a task and the possibility to write a detailed solution for the task. They can be created using text and multimedia.

• Math Formulas: Math Formulas are well formatted and correctly displayed and can be created using LaTeX or a visual editor.

• Math Equations: With the terms and equations element, we make it simple to implement nicely formatted, multi-line equations and term transformations. Command dashes and additional explanations with links can also be added.

• Semantic Highlight Box: Boxes offer the possibility to highlight important sections for learners. With the various semantic box types e.g. “example,” “mnemonic” or “quote”, the content can be structured clearly.
