Otopo

Activities ::: mod_otopo
Maintained by Christophe BOITEUX, Dev E-learning Touch', Luiggi Sansonetti
The OTOPO activity module allows teachers to offer their students a self-positioning grid made up of multi-level items. Students can be asked to self-position themselves on the same grid several times during different sessions, in order to highlight a progression. The teacher can comment on each self-positioning.

Table of Contents

1.1.1

Fixed

  • Automatically retrieved degrees and justifications from the previous session were correctly displayed but not saved in the database (values remained null).
  • Root cause: missing call to setUserOtopo() after automatic retrieval.

Changed

  • Automatically added a call to setUserOtopo() in the mounted() hook right after retrieving data from the previous session.
  • This ensures that retrieved values are immediately saved without requiring any manual action from the user.

1.1.0

Added

  • Full support for group report display with cleaned navigation and error-free linking.
  • Internal logic to resume student inputs from previously saved session data.
  • Issue #6: Carry forward data from one session to the next - Adds the ability to automatically pre-fill a new session with answers and justifications from the previous session.
  • Issue #8: Wrong display in group reports - Group reports are now accessible and display correctly.
  • Partial recovery of previous session dates (currently limited to sessions from 2024).

Fixed

  • Bug report raised at the end of the user doc no longer appears in this version.
  • Copyrights and MAINTAINERS.md.
  • Fixed a visual bug causing broken links when accessing group report views.
  • Issue #5: The visible only to teachers button does not work - The intended behaviour of hiding some elements from students now works as intended.
  • Removed an error caused by missing or malformed session data after session resumption.

Changed

  • Code refactor for better handling of display logic during session grading.
  • The default behavior for hiding teacher comments now works more consistently: individual item comments and grades are hidden, though the global comment is still visible (this can be improved later).

1.0.14

Added

  • External function to retrieve session details.

Fixed

  • Fixed a bug that prevented teachers from commenting on an assignment when the grade type was "NONE".
  • Fixed comments (from previous session) displayed to match the correct item order.
  • When the justification is empty, fetch the previous session justification.

Changed

  • Checkbox automatically checked and hidden if the grade type is set to "NONE".
  • Corrected the placement of data max within the axis configuration.
  • Maximum value is now based on the degrees defined in the grid.
  • Session dates now have a default value.

1.0.13

Fixed

  • Errors/Warnings caused by a missing grade or comment in the session object.
  • Redirection problem when exporting a template.
  • When duplicating a grid item, the item order was incorrect.

1.0.12

Fixed

  • Missing CSS root class path-mod-otopo in styles.css to avoid conflicts.
  • Missing sesskey check when performing important actions. For web services, Moodle takes care of this beforehand (declared services automatically require the user to be logged in), then capabilities are checked with the validate_otopo function.
  • Version in db/install.xml.

Removed

  • Unused grade.php file.

1.0.11

Fixed the remaining blocking bugs and compliance issues in this version. Guides and overall project management have also been improved.

Added

  • The CONTRIBUTORS.md file, dedicated to people who have helped improve the plugin.
  • The MAINTAINERS.md file, dedicated to people or entities who have participated or are actively participating in maintaining the plugin.

Fixed

  • Chart labels to make them consistent and avoid some redundant information.
  • Compliance with the latest PHP, ESLint and Moodle recommendations.

Changed

  • Improved the CONTRIBUTING.md file to make it GitHub/GitLab compatible and easier to understand.
  • Improved the README.md and CHANGELOG.md files to make them clearer and easier to understand.

1.0.10

Fixed some display bugs, improved user experience and changed various plugin properties.

Changed

  • Session names now match the actual name defined by the teacher when the selected session type is Open session.
  • Session type selector in the activity parameters to make it more transparent.
  • Supported Moodle branches.

Fixed

  • In My evolution, the Radar graphs were not displaying the data as expected, as the scales did not start at zero.
  • Teacher's overall comment was not correctly saved during grading. Remember that the grade must be less than or equal to the maximum displayed.
  • Wrong plugin version.
