Part of set Lightbox Gallery.
This resource allows you to create 'Lightbox' enabled image galleries within your Moodle course. As a course teacher, you are able to create, edit and delete galleries. Smallthumbnails will then be generated, which are used for the thumbnail view of the gallery.
Latest release:
3802 sites
1k downloads
105 fans
Current versions available: 12

Clicking on any of the thumbnails brings that image into focus, and allows you to scroll through the
gallery at your leisure. Using the Lightbox scripts creates nice transition effects when loading and
scrolling through the images.

This is a great resource. I have been using it with my school for years. Just a query- Is there a way of downloading all the pictures in a gallery at once? At the moment I have to download each picture individually which is really time consuming.

First of all, I would like to say this. A great app. Congratulations.

Will there be a show description statement on the course page under the description section in the courses?

    Thanks.

    Hey,
First let me congratulate you for the wonderful plugin. I really appreciate all the hard work that went into this.
Thank you very much for making it.

I was just wondering if I would be possible for the thumbnail page be visible on the course page. Like, instead of it being a link where you click and then you go into the gallery, have the gallery thumbnail appear like a image in a Label would.

This way the user could view all the thumbnails from the course page and click on the desired image from the page.

I'm not sure I made myself clear...

    Thank you once again,
    Joao

    Hello,
I was wondering if there's any way to add links to images in the gallery? What we're looking for is a plugin we can use to create a thumbnail gallery with each thumbnail linking to an external gallery in Google Photos – is there any way to achieve this with the lightbox plugin?
    Thanks very much!

A very useful plugin! Like it a lot! It is not overloaded with too many functionality, like its analogues. We use it on Moodle 4.4.2. There are several aspects, that probably could make it even better, IMAO.

    1. Ordering does not work correctly for images with numeric names. Instead of 1,2,3... it turns out 1,10,11,...2,20,21... you have to rename the images each time, adding 0 or 00 to numbers 1-9.
    2. Mannual ordering (by dragging images to desired places) could be a good idea.
    3. It would be nice to add a "Fullscreen view" button to view images in full screen (of course with the ability to scroll through the images).
    4. A "download all images" button and the ability to forbid downloading would also be useful.
    5. It is not clear what the "Make public" option provides. I turned it on and off, but the students still see the gallery as it is.
    6. Automatically hide file type in caption text. Let it be only file name, without type. Otherwise you still have to rename each image to erraze thoese ".jpg" in caption, which is a very timeconsuming job if you have many images
    7. Expand the plugin's system settings at the administrator level. For example, disable comments on system lvl

I've added the 'show description' flag to the code for the next release. Its available on github now if anyone wants it before a proper release.

thnx for natural ordering! That is much better now! I'd add one more option to my previous message:
it would be very great, if desctiption hided while additing or adding images. In the interface for adding or editing images, the content from the "description" is completely unnecessary and even interfering. Because of it, the necessary interface goes somewhere far to the bottom of the page. You have to scroll until you get to where you need to. If the description is voluminous, it really becomes inconvenient and spoils user experience.

Karsinora - the description appearing above the form input is standard Moodle behaviour - you can see the same behaviour in all the other activities (i.e. an assignment, the description appears above the interface for adding your file for submission)

Good day! we have a client who is currently using this plugin but is experiencing when she adds it to a course theret a full black text box where you can't see anything. The client is using Moodle 4.5 just wondering if this is a known issue and if this plugin is compatible with moodle 4.5? Thanks.

    @Amy Noden

The latest version of the plugin (v4.5.0) works on Moodle 4.5 in my testing. Versions before that will *not* work. Have they updated the plugin?
