The E-Voting activity module enables students to vote via their smartphone or their laptop and to have the results displayed on a graph in real time.

The E-Voting activity is ideal to capture the attention of wide groups. It increases interactions between "Professors-Students". Therefore, it supports a flipped class type of activity.

E-voting can be used in class to check knowledge at the end of a course or to animate theoretical presentations.

Usage

  1. As a teacher, on your course, turn editing on
  2. Add an activity or resource
  3. Select E-Voting
  4. Fill the form to create a new E-Voting poll
  5. On the E-Voting page, Click on the QR Code to show it bigger
  6. Your students in class shall have the option for seeing the vote panel to:
    • scan this QR Code with a QR Code reader installed on their Smartphone
    • access with URL above the QR Code
    • click on the activity in the course page
  7. Click "Start button" to start the e-voting poll (you can select if you want time for voting or not)
  8. Only at this moment, your student can vote with Smartphone, laptop, ...
  9. When you want to stop the poll, click the "Stop button"

Hi - This plugin only shows numbers on voting page. It's too difficult to vote without an answer.. Can that be done?
Also can we do offline voting as well?

    Hi,
Great plug-in but I would like to follow students.
Of course, I don't want to see the answer of each student but only to see if they logged into the activity and have voted. Unfortunately, this activity doesn't appear in logs. It also doesn't have a auto-completion option.
Have you forecasted to add these options?

    Thanks
    Emmanuel

    Hi guys,

We apologize for this late response. We have changed the person responsible for plugin tracking.

The last update has been done on the "master" branch since the beginning of September 2020 : https://bitbucket.org/cyberlearn/evoting/src/master/js/

@Ekaggata, we understand your request and keep it in mind. This plugin has been thought to be used with a Moodle court and not independently. In this vision the questions and answers are displayed on the course while the reference of the answers allowing to vote are displayed on the different devices.

    @Emmanual
Unfortunately we are not going in that direction. Our goal was to anonymize the connections as well as the votes.

Does not work in Moodle Mobile App. Any chance to make it work?

Thanks for your nice initiative. Can you please add a symbol or picture option in the next version of this plugin in each choice? because is it highly important in any election.

Dear Contributors - do you plan any support for the 3.11 version?

    HI Guys
@Joel Salazar Ramirez, tanks for this feedback !

@MD, SABBIR HOSSAIN, we do not plan to use anything other than text as a response element.

@Artur Szczygieł-Ryss, the latest version (https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_evoting/v3.9-r1/22286) still works with Moodle 3.11. If you have any problems, please write to us.

    Love the plugin,

Would it be possible for future plans to add an sound to make a Kahoot-Style stress factor?
And also maybe let the choices big big and colourfull with symbols. If thats not too close to Kahoot smile

    Hi

I have installed this plugin in my Moodle.
I want to know how to see the student's answer because I think it is anonymous.

Can this feature implement in the future?
For example, teachers decide if the quizz is anonymous or knowing the student's answer because I would like to use it as pre-evaluation with grading like kahoot! Or Quizziz apps.
Another thing, could it get questions from bank in the future?

I hope that this feature wil be implemented soon and then, this plugin wil be excellent and fabulous.

This is a great plugin. Can I ask about Moodle 4.0 and 4.1 implementation?

    Hi,
We are encountering a problem with this activity on Moodle 4.1 : order of answer choices displayed on student terminals is different from that displayed on the teacher's screen.
    Thanks for your help,

@Valérie Baty, We apologize for the issue you encountered. We attempted to reproduce the bug, but were unsuccessful. This limits our ability to identify the cause at the moment.
