Overview

This is a local plugin that integrates Skill5, a micro-learning and corporate training platform, into Moodle using the LTI 1.3 standard.

Skill5 provides short, focused learning courses designed for professional development and skills training. This plugin allows administrators to connect their Moodle platform to Skill5 and make external micro-learning courses available directly inside Moodle courses, providing a seamless experience for teachers and students through single sign-on (SSO).

The main goal of the plugin is to simplify the LTI 1.3 configuration process, which is often complex and error-prone, by automating tool registration and setup.

How it works

After installation, an administrator connects the Moodle site to Skill5 using a guided connection assistant.
Once connected, the plugin automatically creates and configures an LTI 1.3 tool.

Teachers can then add Skill5 content to their courses using Moodle’s standard External tool activity.
Students access the content directly from Moodle and are authenticated automatically without additional login steps.

• HTTPS enabled (required for LTI 1.3)

• Moodle core External tool (mod_lti) enabled

External services

This plugin communicates with the Skill5 platform to perform LTI 1.3 registration, configuration and content selection.
All communication is performed securely over HTTPS.
