Studentstracker block overview

The block is customizable :

  • block's title
  • choose the roles and groups you want to track
  • choose the roles able to see the block
  • set the number of days from last connection required to track users
  • set an amount of results to display (the rest can be toggled with a button)
  • change the default date format used by the block

It also includes a link to open the direct Moodle message dialog, allowing teachers and managers to contact the tracked users in very a fast and easy way.

    Hello Christopher,
The Moodle way seems to be by editing the config.php file at the root of the Moodle installation folder on your server. See the official doc about the method : https://docs.moodle.org/33/en/Block_layout

Completely blown away, in a good way. Kudos, standing ovation, and nomination for best positive community outreach/help people, make the world a better place and self help team! Waking up sleep deprived and grumpy, the positive energy and straightforward message these guys delivered made me smile and made my day. For the most part, this isn't the same old stuff you've heard repeated. They've done such an amazing job on this.

I wanted to install a plugin, but the plugin update check doesn'r let me unless I update this plugin. But the update returns this error. Moreover I am stuck at the plugin update page if I log in as admin

There seem to be posted a new version, but can I see a changelog somewhere? What is altered in the new version?

    Hi @Samuel Marolop

You can configure some settings in Administration > Plugins > Blocks > Students tracker.

Then, simply add the block inside a course with the editor mode. It should appear in the block's section.

how to add bloks in plugin?
  • Pierre Duverneix
    mer., 16 nov. 2022, 21:06
This plugin is a block plugin.

Once installed, the only way to use it is to activate the editing mode within a course and, from the navigation bar, chose "Add a block".

It will appear in the list of the available blocks on your platform.

Note that you have to do this from a course, not from the dashboard or the admin view, as the block only works in the context of a course.
