This block enables you to add custom floating buttons to your courses to improve navigation for your participants.

The buttons share the look of the help button and are located above it. You can use any FontAwesome icon for the button, the colors are customizable.

You can connect the button with different types of links:

  • Internal link to sections or activities in your course
  • External link to separate pages
  • Links to moodle functions (e.g. link to the section of an activity)

Please be aware, that some course formats have their own way of showing (or collapsing / uncollapsing) sections. In these course formats, setting links to course modules that don't have a separate view page (e.g. mod_label, mod_unilabel, mod_learningmap, ...) or linking to sections might not work in the expected way. We won't be able to make this plugin compatible to these course formats (but everybody is of course free to open a pull request for a solution).

Most of the features will work in every course format.

    Good day!
It is not possible to enter the block settings (Moodle 4.2, PHP8)
generalexceptionmessage: Exception - Call to a member function name() on null
Any tips on how to fix the problem? Thank you!

Is it possible for the configured Floating button to be available to every user and guest?

For "external" link mode, the `target="blank"` is missing from the final output of the floating button, using Moodle 4.4.3

    Hi
I hope you are well, it's been ages. Floating Buttons appears to work on Moodle 5. Could you update the supported extension on your end to Moodle 5 so that it installs automatically each week when we update our Moodle instance? It saves us so much time. Cheers.
