Bulk Activity Creation

Blocks ::: block_bulkactivity
Maintained by Shubhendra Doiphode
This block plugin allows users to create activities/resources in bulk. In other words, a moodle module can be copied to one or more courses or one or more categories/subcategories in one go.
Latest release:
222 sites
59 downloads
20 fans
Current versions available: 3

Once the block is added to a course and when in editing mode, users can click on Edit to see the 'Bulk Copy to Courses' option. By clicking on it, all non-hidden categories on the site will be displayed including their sub-categories with courses. A check-box against every category or course will be available.

You can choose where on a course area you want to add the activity or resource. Currently you can add it in Section 0, Section 1 or in the last Section. Administrators can control it's permission for particular roles to use.

    Hi Bhanukiran,

    I am sorry, I am not able to replicate the issue on my end. Is it possible to get in touch with me on doiphode.sunny@gmail.com?

    Thanks

    Hi Shubhendra,

    I installed this plugin on moodle 3.9.7. The plugin was installed properly but the courses are not showed up after I click "bulk copy to courses" option. I tried all roles. Our course theme is default Lambda but I changed the theme to Boost and try again nothing changed. How do I fixed it?

    Thanks for help.

    Hi Shubhendra - I'm using Moodle 3.9.6 (Build: 20210325). I just installed the latest plugin 3.9, release 1 (2022022000).
    We are using the "Altitude" theme (from Remote Learner).
    I'm having the same exact issue that Bhanukiran Perabathini does, above.
    You and he took the issue offline, so I'm wondering if it would be possible that whatever fix you did for him would work for me as well?
    After installing the block in my course, and clicking on "edit" on the activity I want to copy to other courses, I never see the "Bulk copy to courses" choice.
    Any help kindly appreciated, thank you sir.

    Hi John, could you post the sourcecode link to the theme please? I could take a look what is happening.

    Hello Shubhendra,

    I am using Moodle 3.10.7+ (Build: 20211003)
    I installed ok and added the block to the template course ok. Then I add a label. Then when I click on "bulk copy to courses" I get the section chooser but no courses or categories show below that. None, And I have many unhidden categories. Any suggestions? I really want to use this plugin.

    However, I did find that if I move the course around from category to category I was able to get different categories and courses to appear. But never the categories or courses that I want to add it to even tho I added your block to many different courses in many different categories. This resulted in showing me something.

    Also, I noticed that it seems all categories in the chain must be viewable, not hidden. Starting from the top including subcategories and their courses.

    This leads me to believe that it needs to be in a certain location in the course folder hierarchy. And that there may be some background scheduled event not happening to keep it from reading and displaying the viewable categories and courses. Not sure just a observation.

    Hi John,
    I too am on Remote Learner's Altitude theme and can't get the plugin to work. Were you and Shubhendra able to figure things out?

    Hi Shubhendra Doiphode, I reproduced 4 issues with the plugin in version 2019012002 on Moodle 3.8: https://github.com/doiphode/moodle-block_bulkactivity/issues/16

    Hi.
    I installed the latest release build 2024080200 on Moodle 4.4 and Boost theme, without success: same issue as Demet Arda and others. Nothing happens after clicking on "Bulk copy to courses" action.

    Hola creo haber comprendido el problema porque no le sale algunos las categorías completas o el contenido dentro de ellas, no le probado pero es posible que dentro de la categoría debe haber al menos 1 materia/curso creado, es decir:

    Si tienes creada la categoría debes tener al menos un curso dentro de esa misma categoría.

    >Categoría Matemática
    ----> Matemática 1A ( ojo esto es un Curso)
    ----> Matemática 2A.... etc

    Ahora he notado que si dentro de esa categoría tengo múltiples Subcategorías no me aparece por ejemplo:

    >Categoría Matemática
    > Categoría Matemática paralelo 1 ( ojo esto es una Subcategoría)
    ----> Matemática 1A
    > Categoría Matemática paralelo 2
    ----> Matemática 2A.... etc

    Entonces creo que debe haber al menos 1 materia debajo de la categoría principal, no lo he probado y adicionalmente la categorías, subcategorías y cursos deben ser visibles. Es una teoría porque solo he visto un patrón que concuerda de porque algunas si aparecen y otras no. Lo probaré cuando regrese de almorzar.

    Saludos

    Hola. Regresé de almorzar y justamente ese era el problema. Debe existir al menos un curso en la categoría principal y también en las subcategorías sino lo hacen no lo visualizarán
