Academic Dashboard (Esse3) is a Moodle block plugin designed to make university Moodle environments easier to navigate by connecting Moodle with academic data from CINECA ESSE3. For students, it can display transcript and study-plan information retrieved from the ESSE3 REST API and link those academic activities to the corresponding Moodle courses. For teachers, or for users without a configured matricola, it can build a focused dashboard from the Moodle courses they are enrolled in, grouped according to institutional settings.

The plugin helps reduce navigation noise in large university Moodle installations, where courses are often spread across many categories and academic structures. Instead of asking users to browse the full platform manually, it presents a compact academic view with direct access to relevant courses, enrolment links when applicable, search and filtering tools, and syllabus integration. In this way, Moodle becomes a clearer academic entry point while ESSE3 remains the authoritative source for student career data.
