Windows Live ID

Authentication ::: auth_liveid
Maintained by MrmsLive Account
The Windows Live™ authentication plugin allows you to simultaneously log in to your Moodle course and MS Live account so you only need one username and password. You will see a link to "Sign in with MS Live ID" to the right of the Moodle login. It authenticates your Windows Live ID and signs you into your Moodle course, giving you access to the features of the Microsoft Live Services block from within the course.

When I install Windows Live ID and go to my Manage Authentication page, all I receive is a blank page.

Instale el liveid en auth y sale una página en blanco, es decir, no se ve Gestionar identificación - Plugins de identificación disponibles, me gustaría saber si es en esa carpeta donde se coloca o en otro sitio.

When installing this "Windows Live ID" plugin without the "Microsoft Live Services" plugin, then the "Manage Authentication" page becomes blank.

So the fix for that is just installing the "Microsoft Live Services" block plugin (http://moodle.org/plugins/pluginversions.php?plugin=block_live_services) also ;)

Real problem with this plugin is that it uses deprecated PHP mhash functions.

    Possible workaround for this: http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/bugs.html/_/ip-board/windows-live-sign-in-using-deprecated-function-mhash-r33215

There is also a very critical security bug in this module -- it is possible for user to edit the hidden login form in liveid/authenticate.php and by changing the username a random Moodle user can login as Moodle administrator.

It is also possible to login as (for example) Moodle administrator without any Microsoft Live or Moodle user account.

For that it is just needed to:

    1. create a cookie with name "wls_AccessToken" and whatever value for Your Moodle domain
    2. go to Moodle login page and insert username You want to log in as (password can be empty)

Like that it is possible to login as any Moodle user that uses this authentication.

I installed both in Moodle 2.3.1 and everything to be fine, no problem with installation, client and secret id, but it does not work. When I press the "Sign in" button, is just appear a white page (/auth/liveid/login.php). What could be wrong?
    Thanks in advanced. r.

From today, we are randomly experiencing this error:
"Exception : No verification Code returned from Windows Live Services."
So I upgraded the plugin to the lastest version but the error is still occuring.
Any idea? Thanks in advance! smile

I'll try to fix my problem by changing the URLs. I'll let you know if it works.

I'm a little confused. I have the plug in installed. I have provided my secret key information in Moodle. I have an account linked to a Windows Live ID with the authentication mode set. But when I login using that Windows Live ID I am not logged into Moodle at all, just redirected back to my site.

The only part of the setup I can find that I did not complete was to create an Azure account, as live.azure.com is no longer operational it appears. The only place I can find to do this is only a 90 day free trial. I am confused about what I need to do to get this to work.

We have a problem with login failures "Microsoft Live ID". Some accounts they log on to other accounts over white page http://elearning.unyp.cz/auth/liveid/OAuthWrapCallBack.php?error=server_error&error_description=An%20error%20occurred%20while%20performing%20the%20operation.%20Please%20try%20again%20later
Until yesterday, everything was fine and no changes on the server appear. You do not have a similar experience?
